Riding for Wigan & Leigh Hospice Our Charity Partner
This is the second year that Connolly has supported Wigan and Leigh Hospice, and we hope that we can be as successful as last year to provide much needed funds for such a special place.
This is the 7th annual Wigan Bike Ride, organised by Joining Jack, taking place on Sunday, June 11th, 2023. ‘The Wigan 50 Mile Bike Ride’ in aid of Wigan and Leigh Hospice; our first fundraising event of the year!
The team have chosen to take on the ‘Highway Route’ which will set off from Wigan Town Centre, heading towards Bolton, passing through Preston and back home to Wigan – totalling 53.2 miles!
Stephen Walmsley our Site Manager has been training hard for this ride ” Out on the push iron again another morning training ride, this morning I dropped a hill in to the ride, hospital Hill. How do I describe Hospital Hill to you?
Well at 6:30 in the morning cycling up this hill is a bit like putting sour milk on your cornflakes or stepping on an upturn plug as you get out of bed in the morning 😩. Why am I doing this well it for the fantastic charity. “
