Flintshire County Council – Fabric First Approach
As part of our long-term partnership with Flintshire County Council, Connolly is currently on-site to install a number of retrofit and decarbonisation measures.
PAS2030/35 compliant measures include, roofing replacement works, in-roof Solar PV, replacement windows & doors, cavity wall insulation (installation and infill), loft insulation top-up to 400mm and external wall insulation.
Taking a fabric-first approach, the project will see over 200 council owned properties benefit from retrofit works, through the Welsh Government’s Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS) funding. Through the WHQS, Flintshire County Council aim to invest over £70m into their properties between 2021-2026 for improvement works including Decarbonisation and energy efficiency improvements.
Property SAP ratings will be improved significantly and property EPC ratings increasing from an average of D to an average of B, which exceeds future requirements & legislation for social housing, ensuring properties are future-proofed, protected against energy price rises/fluctuation.
This project is one of the first decarbonisation/retrofit project to benefit from WHQS funding, acting as a pilot for the Council.
