Connolly’s Helping Communities at Christmas

Christmas is a time for giving and here at Connolly’s, we make it our mission to give back to our residents and the communities we work in.

Our annual food bank donations were set in motion back at the beginning of December, with each of our sites setting up a drop point for our staff, suppliers and subcontractors to donate to. The generosity of everyone involved was incredibly appreciated and every site donated on lots of food and special Christmas goodies. We’ve included some of the photos taken from our sites including our tams from West Lancashire Bathrooms & Roofing, Flintshire Council Whole House, Your Housing Windows and Wigan Council Planned Maintenance site.

Our Flintshire team managed to donate a whopping 59.5kg worth of foods and goods to the Flintshire Foodbank!

Well done to all of our site teams who took part!

Lisa Bond, one of our Resident Liaison Officers, undertook her annual Mission Christmas drive to collect donations for Cash for Kids which is an amazing charity for underprivileged children living in poverty. She received 150 toys donated from LGH Plumbing Services, Designed Roof Systems and our very own staff. This amazing generosity helped make sure the children received a gift at Christmas.

Our Onward Homes team working within Suzanne Boardman House discovered that, due to unforeseen circumstances, the residents annual Christmas lunch couldn’t go ahead. Connolly Site Manager, Alex Carter and Resident Liaison Officer, Sarah Carter took it upon themselves to get donations for the meals and even spent their last working day before Christmas cooking and serving the 25no 3 course dinners to the residents. The residents were over the moon and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon with the team which also involved a Christmas Raffle!

Our Leeds site team donated much needed goods and food to St Michael and St. Helens Church. These wonderful donations gave many families a helping hand at Christmas.

As part of our contributions to our clients, we were delighted to donate £1000 amazon vouchers to Peaks and Plains Housing Trust. Emma Richman, Director of Operations at Peaks & Plains, said:

“Despite the challenges facing everyone at the moment, we wanted to join with our partners and make sure that our customers know that we are here for them. Our volunteer staff have chosen around 200 homes that we think might be in need of a ‘lift’ at this time of year”

Simon Harrison, Managing Director at Connolly, said:

“Connolly Ltd are delighted to support this fantastic cause again this year. Christmas is a time for giving back, so we’re proud to be supporting Peaks & Plains. We hope our donation of £1000 Amazon vouchers makes a real difference to local communities.”
